Weekly Reset
Instead of performance indicators, we cover a 10-minute retrospective that closes the week with one line, ‘What’s memorable this week?’ Even if you don't write it like a report, if you write down what went well, what was disappointing, and small changes for next week, there will be less loops in your head when you move on to the weekend.

This is a daily routine for shaping your week. Use “Friday 10-Minute Reflection: One Line Instead of Numbers” to realign the rhythm of everyday life.
The reason weekly retrospectives are burdensome is because they try to be written like a ‘report.’ Ten minutes turns into an hour as you try to fill in the numbers and performance indicators. The 10-minute retrospective is not an analysis, but a ritual to close the week. Something that went well, something that was disappointing, a small change for next week—just one sentence about three things is enough. The longer you write, the easier it will be to skip next week. A short retrospective closes this week without making next week heavier.
One thing that went well. One thing I regret. One small action to change next week. Each needs to be one sentence and no longer than 15 characters. Not a perfect sentence, but an honest one-liner to lighten up the next week. When you feel like writing about your regrets at length, the ‘just one thing’ rule keeps your reflections short.
If you finish your review at the same time and in the same place, you can tie it all into one flow, even turning off work notifications and moving on to the weekend.
Repeat 10 minutes before work on Friday, same day and time. A single note is enough, and a single line or short tag is easier to maintain than a long retrospective. As the weeks accumulate, you will see recurring regrets, which will serve as a hint to change your behavior in the next week.
Even if you don't have a week to review, you can just do it again next Friday. ‘10 minutes most Fridays’ is more realistic than a streak. Even just getting the sense that the week is closed is a success. When the 10 minutes are over, the final step of reflection is to turn off work notifications and switch to weekend mode. 10 minutes is enough.
