RESET
A 2-minute wellness routine for clenched jaws and temple tension—recover the face side of stress at your desk, distinct from neck or shoulder work.

This is a daily wellness routine you can do anywhere. In two minutes, release jaw and temple tension from clenching and restore the face-side rhythm of your day.
Stress does not live only in shoulders. Many people grind through meetings, deadlines, and driving without noticing. Morning headaches, temple tightness, clicks in front of the ear—if neck rolls do not help, suspect the jaw. This routine needs no gear and stays nearly invisible to others.
Rest the tongue behind the upper teeth and confirm the teeth are slightly apart. If they touch, you are already clenching. Soft lips, teeth not touching—that is neutral. With sharp pain or limited opening, skip force and see a clinician.
0–20s: small circles on both temples. 20–50s: fingertips on the jaw joints in front of the ears; open slowly as if yawning and close for five reps—no chomp. 50–90s: slide the jaw 5mm left/right five times. 90–120s: low hum with lip vibration while dropping the shoulders. A two-minute timer is enough.
After lunch meetings, when afternoon focus frays, after driving or transit, before sleep. Two sessions a day are ideal; the best trigger is noticing a clench. A tiny “jaw” sticky on the monitor raises frequency.
You may combine with neck rolls or shoulder-blade squeezes, but release the jaw first. Leaving facial tension while only freeing the neck underpays the effort. Doing jaw alone is fine—short wellness finishes more often.
Maximal mouth opening, forceful “cracking,” big side swings. Stop if it hurts. If you chew gum for long stretches, reduce gum time in the same week as this routine.
For two weeks: notice + two minutes only. Then add one post-lunch calendar ping. Not a grand stretch session—just a switch that unlocks the clench. That is the whole wellness routine.
