TRANSITION

Three minutes: change clothes at the door

A 3-minute transition routine: change from outdoor clothes to home clothes at the entryway before the sofa—so your body marks outside vs inside and evening wellness can start.

현관에서 옷 갈아입기 3분

This is a daily routine for the moment you get home. Spend three minutes at the door changing into home clothes so you do not collapse onto the sofa still in work mode—and evening wellness can begin.

Evenings often fail from missing transitions, not from missing ambitious rituals. Sitting down with shoes, earbuds, and a bag still on keeps the brain in transit. Changing one layer is a small bodily signal that roles and spaces have changed.

Prep: one home outfit by the door

Keep one ready top and bottom (or one dress/set) on a hook or in a basket. Comfort beats aesthetics. Swap the set on weekends when seasons change. If you already have a drop zone for keys, the next 30 cm is the stage for this routine.

The 3-minute sequence

0–40s: shoes, bag, coat to their places. 40–90s: swap outdoor top for home top. 90–150s: change bottoms or remove belts/badges—the symbols of outside. 150–180s: phone on a tray (not a pocket) and one sip of water. Use a timer or treat the door-close-to-sip arc like a song intro.

Why the doorway, not the bedroom

Wearing outdoor clothes into the bedroom turns bed, desk, and sofa into temporary offices. Finishing at the entry keeps the rest of the home in evening mode. With family, it is also a quiet transition. Using the bathroom for bottoms is fine—just finish before the sofa.

Exceptions

Guests, deliveries, or exhausted days: tops only. A reduced version still counts. Full skips teach the week that the ritual is optional—at least remove the coat and badge. Use the same three minutes after weekend outings; it is a homecoming ritual, not a weekday-only trick.

Link to the evening

Once clothes change, the next step is easier—wash hands, drink water, stretch. Skip the three minutes and phone-scroll evenings return. Doorway changing is not dramatic wellness; it is the threshold of a daily routine.
