Shop Smarter
A short daily-life routine: photograph the fridge before shopping so you buy from what you already have—cutting duplicates and waste.

Grocery runs can become a daily-life routine too. One photo before you leave helps you choose without waste.
Shopping hungry and from memory often means buying what you already have. Half of food waste is “I didn’t know we had that.” Even a list app fails if home inventory isn’t in view.
Before you leave, open the fridge and take one clear photo of the shelves that match what you might buy today. It doesn’t need to be tidy—just evidence you can check at the store.
Start with what you duplicate most: sauces, dairy, produce, frozen staples. If it’s dark, open the door and use the flash briefly.
Even with a written list, the photo changes decisions on site. One “we already have lettuce” moment pays for the habit.
Open the photo before the cart. Skip what you already own. When a sale pulls you in, check the photo again—sales only help for what you lack.
Offline, open the album right before items go in the cart. Online, compare the photo on the checkout screen.
Delete the photo or keep a “groceries” album. After a few trips, duplicate buys drop fast. Less leftover produce also simplifies dinners.
Once a week, turn frequently leftover ingredients into two default recipes. Inventory becomes habit; habit becomes the table.
Shopping isn’t about filling a cart—it’s connecting to what’s already home. Before you go, take one fridge photo.
