Sleep Prep
One evening phone basket covers a physical device to break up screen time after a meal. Paired with charging outside the bedroom, it creates a ‘I leave it here and it’s done today’ line, creating a disconnect between evening and sleep habits.

This is a practical daily routine. Use “Evening Phone Basket: Put it in a corner of the living room.” as a small habit you can repeat.
There are many days when my hands are on my phone even after 8pm. One basket is a physical line that says, ‘If you leave it here, it will end today.’ Pair it with out-of-bedroom charging.
Environmental design comes before willpower. Setting a basket location, time, and alternative behavior will reduce screen time in the evening.
It’s not ‘complete digital disconnect,’ but ‘no phones in the bedroom or on the sofa after 8 p.m.’—follow one small rule.
Next to the TV in the living room, near the dining table, or in the entrance, a place that is just the end of the day. When the alarm goes off at 8pm, place your phone in the basket and fasten it to the wall for charging.
It is recommended that the basket be without a lid. All you have to do is ‘insert’, and ‘close’ is a burden.
Same rules for watches and tablets. Small screens are no exception.
Things to do after putting your phone in the basket: shower, tea, paper book for 10 minutes, light stretching.
Fill the scroll space with ‘different senses’ rather than ‘doing nothing’. Switch between warm water, paper, and lighting.
If you are with your family, if you do the ‘8 o’clock basket’ together, you can save each other ‘just once’.
For emergency contact, use speakerphone or watch. ‘Just one’ bed days break the habit, so make exceptions the day before.
On exception days, write down the time limit—“only until 9:00”—and place it next to the basket.
If you keep the same hours on weekends, the line between weekdays and weekends will not be blurred.
If you fix the order of basket → shower → bedroom (no phone), screen zero 30 minutes before going to bed is natural.
The 10 minutes of audio before going to sleep is not from the phone in the basket, but from the speakers in the living room.
Tonight, just grab a basket and set an 8 o'clock alarm. The pace of the evening can vary.
The basket is not a will, but a circumstance—a physical line that stops the phone after 8 p.m.
Combined with out-of-bedroom charging, it creates a boundary that extends from evening to sleep.
The moment you put your phone in the basket—it tells your body that ‘screen time for the day’ is over.
